Marketing Communications Project Manager (Policy and Education) – permanent contract
The Wellcome Trust is a global charitable foundation dedicated to achieving extraordinary improvements in health. We do this by supporting the brightest
minds, spending £700 million a year on biomedical research and the medical humanities.
Inspiring young people with science, and building constructive relationships between the research community and policy makers, are integral to our mission.
To support this work, we are looking for a talented professional to lead our communications with education, parliamentary and policy-making audiences.
The ideal candidate will come from a marketing or communications background in the policy or education environments. You will have proven experience of
project managing events, networking initiatives and/or placing paid advertising, and implementing digital communications. You will be a great communicator,
with the ability to maintain and develop positive working relationships, both internally and externally. This is not a media relations or policy
development role, though it will require liaison with our media relations and policy teams.
Reporting to the Senior Marketing and Communications Manager, you will have the creativity to devise and implement communications plans that engage with
our key audiences – including parliamentarians, civil servants, educators, researchers and other relevant groups – and strengthen delivery and
understanding of the Wellcome Trust’s mission and vision.
You will have a CIM or other relevant communications qualification or professional experience. You will also have experience in engaging parliamentary or
education audiences and possess excellent project management skills.
Experience of or a demonstrable interest in the biomedical sciences and medical humanities would be an advantage.
We offer a competitive salary plus excellent benefits.
