We are a global charitable foundation dedicated to achieving extraordinary improvements in health by supporting the brightest minds in biomedical research and the medical humanities.

We have recently adopted a new communications strategy that takes a “digital first” approach to reaching our key audiences, which includes an exciting initiative to explain biomedical science directly to the public through websites and mobile apps. The digital revolution has transformed the landscape of communications, and we are determined to take full advantage.

To support the delivery of this strategy, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced web or digital programme manager to fill the new post of Head of Digital Development. You will be responsible for creating and delivering a digital strategy that will allow us to make the most of this new approach to communications, while taking operational responsibility for our web presences and for management of our in-house web team.

Reporting to the Head of Communications, you will lead on the selection, delivery, management and development of modern digital platforms that can store, deliver and present content to meet the needs of our users, both external and internal. These platforms will include websites with responsive design, APIs and mobile apps.

You will have:

  • Experience of developing and successfully implementing a digital / web strategy for an organisation
  • A track record of leading the development of creative, modern, content-rich websites with responsive design.
  • Extensive experience of managing and leading high-performing web development teams
  • An excellent understanding of both open and closed source content delivery systems, development platforms and languages, server architectures and hosting approaches
  • Experience of presenting and reporting at board level
  • An excellent understanding of user experience principles and practice

Salary upto £70,000 plus an excellent remuneration package including a final salary pension scheme will be offered.
